Gul witnesses horse, cattle show in Lahore

 

LAHORE: Turkish President Abdullah Gul witnessed the Pride of Punjab Horse and Cattle show here at Polo ground on Thursday evening.

Parks & Horticulture Authority and Livestock Dairy Development, Punjab organized the show. Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Punjab Ministers Rana Sanaullah, Ashraf Khan Sohna and other high ranking officials were also present on the occasion.

Horses and camels exhibited Punjab's traditional dance on the drum beat which was highly appreciated by the distinguished guests. The folk artists also presented their performances while students of Aitchison college demonstrated tent pegging besides march-past holding the flags of Turkey and Pakistan.

Earlier, national anthems of both the countries were played. An exhibition of livestock including famous breed of Neeli Bar Buffaloes of Sahiwal was held. The Turkish President also witnessed the flowers exhibition at Lahore polo ground.

Later, a match between Lahore Blue and Lahore Red was played which ended in a draw. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif presented a gift of a beautiful Arab breed horse to the Turkish President.
